Product Usage
6-Benzylaminopurine is a plant growth regulator classified as a first-generation synthetic cytokinin widely used in agriculture.
It is applied to stimulate sprouting in plant materials and is incorporated into seed germination media for seed cultivation. It is also used to modify Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium to promote shoot initiation. In addition, it functions as an inhibitor of respiratory kinase activity in plants.
Also known as benzyl adenine (BAP), 6-Benzylaminopurine works synergistically with auxins to regulate plant growth and developmental processes. It is commonly added as a cytokinin supplement in plant culture media, including Murashige and Skoog medium, Gamborg’s medium, and Chu’s N6 medium.
