Multiple functional groups — Contains numerous carboxyl groups that enable diverse chemical reactions and modifications.
Multi-functional usage — Acts as a thickener, dispersant, flocculant, adhesive, and film-forming agent.
Wide industrial applications — Used across coatings, plastics, papermaking, textiles, rubber, food, medicine, cosmetics, and water treatment industries.
Polyacrylic acid (PAA), also known as 2-acrylic acid homopolymer, acrylic resin coating, acrylic resin, acrylic monomer polymer, acrylic modified resin, or acrylic resin emulsion, is a water-soluble acrylic polymer. It is also soluble in certain polar solvents like methanol, dioxane, and ethylene glycol, with an ionization constant of 4.75. Due to its numerous carboxyl groups, PAA can react with alkalis, alcohols, and amines, and undergo dehydration, degradation, and complexation reactions. It serves various functions, including as a thickener, dispersant, flocculant, adhesive, and film-forming agent. PAA is widely applied in industries such as coatings, plastics, papermaking, textiles, rubber, food, medicine, cosmetics, and water treatment.
