Candelilla Wax CAS# 8006-44-8
Natural Plant-Based Wax: Candelilla wax is a natural wax extracted from the candelilla plant, making it a plant-derived and sustainable raw material.
Excellent Thermal Stability: Due to its unique resin components, candelilla wax has strong resistance to temperature changes and maintains stable performance under varying conditions.
High Hardness and Brittleness: It is a hard and brittle wax with a glossy surface, providing good structural strength for various industrial and cosmetic applications.
Good Solubility in Organic Solvents: Candelilla wax is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, hot petroleum ether, and toluene, which makes it convenient for formulation and processing in multiple industries.
Candelilla wax, also known as tung oil wax, is a pale yellow, glossy, waxy solid with an aromatic odor. It is a brittle and hard plant-based wax. Candelilla wax contains special resin components and is highly resistant to temperature changes. It is a natural wax extracted from the candelilla tree. Its appearance is a yellowish-brown, opaque to translucent hard wax block or powder. It has a relative density of approximately 0.983, a melting point of 67–68℃, an iodine value of 37, and a refractive index of 1.4555. It is soluble in chloroform, hot petroleum ether, toluene, and alkalis, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water.
