Product Description of Dioctyl Sebacate CAS#122-62-3
Dioctyl sebacate, also known as bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate (DOS), is produced through the esterification of sebacic acid and 2-ethylhexanol. It is widely compatible with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), vinyl chloride copolymers, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, and synthetic rubber.
The product features high plasticizing efficiency and low volatility, along with excellent cold resistance, good heat resistance, light stability, and electrical insulation properties. In addition, it provides good lubricity during heating, which helps improve both the appearance and tactile quality of finished products.
Dioctyl sebacate is especially suitable for the production of cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, films, plates, and sheets.
