Ammonium phosphate dibasic CAS#7783-28-0

                1. High Nutrient Content: Diammonium phosphate provides both nitrogen (18%) and phosphorus (48%), essential for crop growth.
2. Quick-Acting Fertilizer: It is highly soluble in water, ensuring rapid nutrient absorption by plants.
3. Versatile Application: Suitable for various crops and soils, especially beneficial for nitrogen-preferring crops requiring phosphorus.
4. Alkaline Solution: The alkaline nature of its saturated solution makes it ideal for acidic soils, improving phosphorus availability.
Diammonium phosphate (DAP), also known as diammonium hydrogen phosphate, is a compound fertilizer that provides two essential nutrients: nitrogen and phosphorus. As a high-concentration, fast-acting fertilizer, it is highly soluble in water and forms fewer solids upon dissolution. This makes it ideal for a wide range of crops and soil types, particularly for crops that thrive on nitrogen and require phosphorus. It can be used both as a base fertilizer or for topdressing, with deep application being recommended for best results. The standard product contains 18% nitrogen (N) and 48% phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5), and its crystal structure is that of flat-oblique prisms. At 25°C, it has a solubility of 71% in water.
Its saturated solution has a pH of 8, which is significantly higher than that of monoammonium phosphate. Due to the alkaline nature of its saturated solution, applying diammonium phosphate to acidic soils can reduce the fixation of phosphorus by iron and aluminum, thus enhancing phosphorus availability. Therefore, it is particularly effective for use in acidic soils.
