Sodium trimetaphosphate CAS#7785-84-4

  • Excellent Chelating & Water-Softening Ability:STPP effectively complexes calcium, magnesium, and iron ions, softening water and improving performance in detergents and industrial applications.

  • High-Efficiency Dispersing & Cleaning Performance:With strong colloidal and dispersing properties, STPP prevents dirt redeposition, enhances particle stability, and significantly boosts washing efficiency.

  • Versatile Functional Additive:Its unique molecular structure makes STPP an effective inorganic surfactant, buffer, and cross-linking agent, suitable for detergents, starch modification, and bleaching systems.

  • Broad Industrial & Consumer Applications:STPP is widely used in detergents, food and industrial processing, vitamin C derivatives, and high-grade toothpaste, offering cost-effective and reliable performance across multiple sectors.

Product Details

1. Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) can be used in the preparation of vitamin C phosphate esters, possessing the benefits of vitamin C while overcoming its susceptibility to oxidation by light, heat, and metal ions.

2. It can be used in the preparation of cross-linked starch. Industrially, using STPP as a cross-linking agent to prepare cross-linked starch is characterized by high efficiency, environmental friendliness, high conversion rate, and low cost, suitable for various product processing needs, and producing products with excellent performance.

3. Due to its unique molecular structure, STPP is an excellent inorganic surfactant.

4. It has strong complexing ability. It can form soluble complexes with dissolved metal cations such as calcium, magnesium, and iron in water, remaining inert and softening the water, thus serving as a water softener.

5. It has strong colloidal ability, capable of dissolving many sparingly soluble compound suspensions (including pigments); it disperses dirt in solutions into fine particles, preventing precipitation on textile fibers. For solid particles, it facilitates the formation of emulsions, promotes particle dispersion and stability, and when used with detergents, accelerates particle dispersion and enhances washing effect; when used in viscous liquids, it increases fluidity.

6. Sodium tripolyphosphate can be used as a buffer in hydrogen peroxide bleaching. As a detergent component, it helps maintain the pH of the detergent solution within its optimal range; when used in detergents containing light metals, it prevents the harmful effects of alkali.

7. It is also a raw material for producing high-grade toothpaste, acting as an abrasive. Medical research shows that sodium tripolyphosphate also has the function of preventing and eliminating tooth decay, and it is the most effective of all phosphates.
