Products Description of Molybdenum Trioxide CAS#1313-27-5
Molybdenum trioxide is an inorganic compound with the molecular formula MoO₃. It is primarily used for the determination of substances such as proteins, phenols, arsenic, lead, and bismuth. In addition, it serves as a reducing agent for compounds including phosphorus pentoxide, arsenic trioxide, hydrogen peroxide, phenols, and alcohols. It is also an important raw material for the production of molybdenum salts and molybdenum alloys.
On October 27, 2017, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) under the World Health Organization released a reference list of carcinogens, in which molybdenum trioxide was classified as a Group 2B carcinogen.

Product Application of Molybdenum Trioxide CAS#1313-27-5
Molybdenum trioxide is used for colorimetric analysis of blood glucose, proteins, phenols, arsenic, lead, bismuth, and related substances, as well as for alkaloid detection. It also serves as a catalyst in the petroleum industry and as a raw material for producing molybdenum salts and molybdenum alloys. Additionally, it functions as a reducing agent for phosphorus pentoxide, arsenic trioxide, hydrogen peroxide, phenols, and alcohols. High-purity molybdenum trioxide is applied in the reduction of molybdenum powder and is widely used as a fission catalyst, hydrogenation catalyst, pigment, and in the manufacture of ceramics and glass.
