Product Details

The anhydrous salt of cobalt(II) sulfate is a purple orthogonal crystal with a density of 3.71 g/cm³ and melts above 700°C. The monohydrate is crimson, with a density of 3.08 g/cm³, and dissolves slowly in boiling water. The heptahydrate appears as crimson monoclinic prismatic crystals with a density of 2.03 g/cm³. It dehydrates to hexahydrate at 41°C and converts to monohydrate at 74°C. Both the anhydrous salt and heptahydrate are soluble in water.
