Polyferric Sulfate CAS#10028-22-5
Water and Waste Treatment – Ferric chloride is widely used in sewage treatment and drinking water purification, including the effective removal of arsenic and other contaminants.
Metallurgical Applications – It serves as a leaching agent in chloride hydrometallurgy, facilitating the extraction and processing of metals efficiently.
Electronics and PCB Manufacturing – Used for etching copper in printed circuit board production through two-step redox reactions, ensuring precision and quality in electronic components.
Catalytic Use – Functions as a Lewis acid catalyst for reactions like aromatic chlorination and Friedel–Crafts synthesis.
Ferric chloride, the iron (III) chloride, has a wide range of applications. In industry, it is used for sewage treatment and drinking water purification, including arsenic removal; as a leaching agent in chloride hydrometallurgy; for etching copper through two-step redox reactions to produce copper (I) chloride and then copper chloride in printed circuit board manufacturing; and as a catalyst in the synthesis of ethylene dichloride from ethylene and chlorine. In the laboratory, it is commonly used as a Lewis acid to catalyze reactions such as the chlorination of aromatic compounds and Friedel–Crafts reactions of aromatics.

Product Usage
It is extensively used for turbidity removal in various industrial waters and for treating wastewater from industries such as mining, printing and dyeing, papermaking, food processing, and leather. It demonstrates excellent purification performance for slightly polluted water, algae-contaminated water, low-temperature, and low-turbidity raw water, and is particularly effective in treating high-turbidity raw water.
