Silicone oil CAS#63148-62-9
Excellent Thermal Stability: Silicone oil features a highly stable silicon–oxygen bond, giving it strong resistance to thermal decomposition and enabling reliable performance across a wide temperature range.
Broad Operating Temperature Range: With a high boiling point and low freezing point, silicone oil remains liquid and functional in both high-heat and low-temperature environments.
Chemically Inert and Safe: It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, making it chemically inert and suitable for applications requiring minimal reactivity or contamination risk.
High Purity and Structural Reliability: The linear polydimethylsiloxane structure ensures consistent molecular stability, providing dependable performance in industrial and technical applications
Silicone oil, which has a siloxane-based silica structure, remains liquid at room temperature and is generally referred to as a siloxane. The simplest form of polydimethylsiloxane corresponds to formula [1]. In formula [2], when R, R1, and R2 are all methyl groups, the compound is known as α,ω-trimethylsilyloxy polydimethylsiloxane, commonly referred to as silicone oil. This material is a low–molecular-weight linear polymer. If R1 or R2 is not a methyl group, it falls outside the scope of this discussion. Silicone oil appears as a colorless or pale yellow transparent liquid that is odorless and tasteless. It also features a high boiling point, a low freezing point, and excellent stability due to the strong silicon–oxygen bond.
