Product Details
Product Description of Selenium Dioxide
Selenium dioxide is primarily used as an oxidizing agent in organic synthesis and participates in a wide range of oxidation reactions. Although the use of selenium dioxide in some applications has gradually decreased due to its toxicity and the development of alternative reagents, it remains an important tool in synthetic chemistry.
In particular, selenium dioxide continues to play a significant role in the oxidation of reactive methyl, methylene, and hydroxymethyl groups, making it valuable for functional group transformations and the synthesis of organic compounds.
