Product Application: 4-Hydroxycoumarin (CAS# 1076-38-6)
4-Hydroxycoumarin is widely used as an intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and pesticides. It serves as a key precursor for anticoagulant compounds such as dicoumarol, new anticoagulants, and warfarin, which belong to a class of oral anticoagulants. Among these, dicoumarol has a relatively long duration of action (4–7 days), while coumarin ethyl ester exhibits a shorter duration (2–3 days).
In addition, 4-hydroxycoumarin is utilized in the synthesis of certain rodenticides. It also has applications in the flavor and fragrance industry, as coumarin compounds are widely found in plants.
